Guys. We did it. We bought a house! And, in case you’ve been wondering, this is one of the reasons I’ve been so quiet on the blog for the past month (I’ve missed it!). Between cleaning and packing my old apartment, and decorating and remodeling my new home, it’s been quite chaotic around here. I’m definitely ready to get back into the swing of things now!
I couldn’t be more excited to be a homeowner with Jacob back in beautiful southern Utah. We left southern Utah last year in pursuit of new jobs and a new life in Salt Lake City. But as luck would have it, we found ourselves back in good ol’ southern Utah a year later. I guess this is where we are meant to be. Isn’t it funny how life turns out that way sometimes?
Between the two of us, we have spent seven years of our lives living in various apartments across the state. I’ve moved every year since I turned 18, so I’ve gotten pretty tired of packing, deep cleaning, moving, and unpacking again. It’s certainly going to be weird to settle down for a while, but I think I’ll enjoy it!
We found a beautiful little home in southern Utah with an amazing view of the red mountains right in our backyard. We knew this home would require a bit of work to bring it up to our standards, so we got right to it as soon as the keys were handed over. With the help of Jacob’s amazing family, we tore up the old flooring and replaced it with stunning vinyl that mimics the look of wood. We also painted the entire home in a lovely shade of “greige”. While there is literally a never-ending list of projects I’d like to take on (countertops, appliances, light fixtures), swapping out the flooring and paint has made such a difference to the look and feel of our home! It seriously looks like a completely different home than when we bought it.
Well, I don’t want to talk your ear off too long! Here are a few photos of our new home! Feel free to take a gander while you enjoy a treat.
Well, that’s all I have for now. But I may add some more photos later!
